Why doesn't the clay need firing?
This is a specially made air-drying clay with tiny fibres inside that let it set hard by itself, so no kiln is needed.
Simply give your pieces time to dry completely, then brush on Sculpd varnish to make them water resistant and give them a ceramic-style finish.
Will the clay go hard if I leave it for too long?
It will, yes. Left exposed for too long, the clay starts to harden, and it dries naturally in the open air over 24–48 hours, with the exact time varying by how thick the piece is.
To keep leftover clay soft, seal it back inside its resealable bag. Also, skip ovens and heat sources, because speeding up the drying can crack your piece!

Fun Date Night!
I ordered a Sculpd pottery kit for two as a date for my girlfriend and me, and we were not disappointed! It took longer than we expected, but once we got started we never wanted to stop! We each made 6 smaller pieces from our bags, and the ideas were very easy to follow. I definitely recommend it, but plan ahead for the drying and painting times!
